Who are we?

For more than thirty years the Macclesfield & District Talking Newspaper For The Blind has produced a weekly cassette tape and more recently CD, of local news and magazine items which is sent out to blind and visually impaired people who live in Macclesfield, Bollington, Poynton, Prestbury and surrounding districts or who have links with the area.

All our volunteers are unpaid and our work does not attract statutory funding of any kind. We rely on our own fund raising activities and the generosity of donors to fund our work and thank The Macclesfield Express , Community News and various Parish magazines who allow us to use their stories.

The Macclesfield Talking Newspaper is sent out each week by post to our listeners who then return the cassettes or CD pouch to us ready for the next issue. The service is entirely FREE to our listeners and is delivered free courtesy of the Royal Mail.

We know that our work is appreciated by the number of messages we receive from our listeners who tell us that we help them to stay in-touch with their local community.

Thank You For Your Support
